All that we do at Big Sisters of Rhode Island focuses on providing
positive experiences for girls between the ages of 7 and 18. The
agency offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to support the work
and nurture the mission of Big Sisters of Rhode Island. To learn

Become a Big Sister - Being a Big Sister is about sharing simple, magical moments with a child. Help reduce a young girls's vulnerability and enable her to thrive emotionally, socially, and academically, and help her to reach her fullest potential. Just 6 to 8 hours a month will make a difference in a young girl's life.
Join A Committee - Come join a vital part of our organization and make sure Big Sisters meets its mission. This important work takes the hearts and hands of many individuals and businesses. Some of our committees that could use assistance are:
Abracadabra Ball - In 2007 our signature fundraising event will celebrate 40 years of serving at-risk girls through our programs. The "black-tie optional" gala is scheduled for Saturday, November 10, 2007, and community support is crucial for its success.
Marketing/Development Committee - Use your professional expertise and help assist in our marketing and development planning to make sure Big Sisters stays in the eye of the public.
Special Projects - We have many annual events that could use your help. Some of these events include: Halloween Bowling Bash, Holiday Party in December, and Big & Little Sister Cookout & Field Day.
Board of Directors - Big Sisters of Rhode Island seeks women and men
for whom our mission resonates to serve on our board of directors.
Board Committees - Membership on a board committee is a wonderful way
to assist Big Sisters.
