The Big Sisters agency particularly seeks women of color and Latinas as Big Sisters in order to provide a wider field of mentors available to be matched to the interests and needs of Little Sisters. The Diversity Council is made up of women and men who wish to assist the agency in raising awareness of Big Sisters of Rhode Island's programs and services, and mentoring and volunteer opportunities in the many diverse communities across the state.
